Tibotec Therapeutics was established in March 2003 as a division of Ortho Biotech Products, L.P. The organization is dedicated to delivering innovative oncology, virology and other specialty therapeutics that improve patients' survival and quality of life and address serious unmet needs.
Tibotec Therapeutics currently markets DOXIL ®(doxorubicin HCI liposome injection) an advanced formulation of doxorubicin that incorporates ALZA's STEALTH delivery technology. DOXIL is indicated for the treatment of metastatic ovarian cancer in refractory patients, as well as AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma.
Tibotec Therapeutics is supporting research into treatment of a variety of solid and hematologic cancers. In HIV, the organization is supporting research of potential new approaches to treating the virus, including next-generation protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors.
Tibotec Therapeutics draws on the scientific expertise and resources of several Johnson & Johnson organizations to further its research and development efforts, including Tibotec, J&JPRD, ALZA, Centocor and 3-D Pharmaceuticals, as well as partnerships with leading external academic institutions and biopharmaceutical companies. In addition, the organization collaborates on many levels with Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC) on early research endeavors, as well as Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals Business Development to uncover new and exciting opportunities in the biopharmaceuticals arena.
Tibotec Therapeutics is interested in exploring licensing, acquisitions, co-promotion arrangements or other transactions in the areas of oncology, HIV and other specialty therapeutics.
